The Vote

Well I voted.  The weather was perfect and the four block walk through Shadyside was pleasant.  Autumn leaves covered the sidewalks.  I voted around 8:30 am.  There was no line.  The volunteers were helpful and friendly.  I felt patriotic and knew I was taking part in an historic election no matter who wins.

I went back to my apartment and phoned Verizon and tried to fix whatever is keeping me from accessing my voicemail.  Then I left for computer school.

Election Day Is Here!

It’s 6:30 am.  In about an hour I’ll leave my apartment and walk the four blocks to the church where I vote.  What an historic day: McCain, Palin, Obama and Biden.  The nation is fighting two wars.  The economy is in a dangerous recession.  Humankind has been polluting the planet for decades.  People are losing their pensions.  Over forty-five million Americans have no health care.  Should the right to life of the unborn supersede the right of a woman to an abortion?

Be sure to vote.
