Can we spell DEPRESSION boys and girls? A recession is when your neighbor has no job. A depression is when you have no job. Last night as I watched the evening business news on the Public Broadcasting System I kept getting the awful feeling that the present administration has no idea what it’s doing. The financial markets are not listening to the present lame-duck president. So, here was the president-elect assuring the nation, giving a news conference and answering questions and making the market jump hundreds of points just on the quality of the economic team he’s putting together.
But I couldn’t help but feel that we are indeed at the edge of an economic disaster.
