Breakfast At The Sandwich Shop

This morning I went out to celebrate my new position as a full time blogger by having breakfast at a place in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy” called The Sandwich Shop on Liberty Avenue.

I had two scramble eggs, home fries and toast for $2.45.  Old hippies run the place and young goths (I guess they’re goths–I don’t keep up like I use to on the cultural wars) hang out at the place.  The waitress took my order as I sat at the counter.  She was all pierced up with wild hair with purple streaks in it and she was dressed all in black.

Since no one would come out of the back to cook my breakfast she had to do it herself.  She did a good job and was relieved when I said it tasted good.

I left and had one draft at Nico’s and then took the 54C back to Oakland, read the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and started blogging.
