Trees In The City

During the fall the leaves drop from the trees and I can see the 42-story-high Cathedral of Learning of the University of Pittsburgh through the bare branches from a window of my apartment.  Now it’s May and the leaves of the trees block my view of the Cathedral of Learning but that’s okay.

Lately, I’ve been going for long walks through a park near the campus of the university before doing any writing or blogging.  I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and have lived in this city ever since.  But I love nature.  There’s something comforting about all the grass and hedges and trees in the neighborhood I live in.

I suppose trees represent life and our attachment to the earth even if we live in a city.
