Now the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette doesn’t have access to the Pirates organization. The Gazette does have access to the talk on the street. And you know what the talk is on the street?
The owners are making plenty of money and don’t care if the Pirates win or lose. Losing is easy. Winning is difficult.
The ownership is incompetent.
Nah. What do the fans on the street know about running a professional baseball team?
That’s right hockey fans. Tuesday night the Pittsburgh Penguins must do or die. The Pittsburgh media at the beginning of the series assured the fans that even if the Penguins were down in the series not to worry because the Penguins were the better team.
That’s always self-serving thinking. The better team doesn’t always win. So, it all comes down to Tuesday night. The Penguins certainly have the talent to win. They certainly have the experience to win. And they’ll be in Pittsburgh with the fans rooting them on to win.
Now they have to play the game.
Blogging is fun. You get to connect with people. It can also be time consuming. And like any writer, the blogger must come up with subjects and ideas to blog about.
However, if a blogger can blog every day the rewards can be worth all of the time put in.
The blogger gets more page views because he or she is an every day blogger and a growing audience will begin to look for postings every day.
The search engines like every day bloggers.
Over time the every day blogger will get better at blogging as opposed to the once in a while blogger.
This may just be worth all the time it takes to be an every day blogger.

What Vietnam Can Teach Us About Afghanistan
June 7, 2009 — pittsburghflashfictiongazetteI fought in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. I was nineteen years old. I was a 105mm howitzer artillery man. The Communist forces never won a major battle on the battle field. But like the American Revolutionary Continental Army they didn’t have to win many battles on the battle field. They simple had to hold on and not be defeated.
Our allies, the South Vietnamese Government, were so corrupt that the South Vietnamese people, the people the American Government was (according to official doctrine) trying to “save” despised their own government.
If we lose in Afghanistan, one of the reasons will be because of the rampant corruption of the Afghan Government. Time is not on our side.
