Vietnam A History by Stanley Karnow is the best book on Vietnam that I have come across.
Hello, bloggers, college students, creative writers, Flash Fiction Fanatics and Vietnam War veterans. The Old Soldier served with the 1st Cav from 1966-1967 in a 105mm howitzer battery. For me, Vietnam is a fading memory. I was 19 when I fought in Vietnam, but I find I still think about the war often.
So, I’ve been going to my very small personal library and re-reading Vietnam A History. I have several books in my very small library. There are books about or written by Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, John O’Hara, Raymond Carver, The Doors and the book on Vietnam.
In my mind all these books belong together. They represent who I am and who I use to be. They are a part of where I get my flash fiction stories from.
