Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette

It’s Friday and you know what that means: karaoke tonight at Del’s Italian Restaurant in Bloomfield (Little Italy) in Pittsburgh.  Karaoke is the social event of the week for the Old Soldier.  I think I’ll start the evening off with Do You Really Want To Hurt Me by Culture Club.

I recently received a submission that was all exposition, had no conflict, no protagonist, no dialogue and no significant event.  That’s not a short story.  That’s not flash fiction.  That’s an essay.
