Have you decided to give flash fiction a try?
Greetings, bloggers, readers, students and writers. Welcome to my blog, the home of the flash fiction story. Writing flash fiction is not difficult if you do a few basic things.
Make sure what you write is a story not a sketch. A story is about an event that has an impact on the life of one or more characters. A sketch is about something that is not important.
Get into the main part of the story as soon as possible. If you are still giving information to the reader about what the situation is all about 1/2 half way into the story, you may be telling the story instead of showing the story. It is nearly always better to show don’t tell.
Revision is absolutely necessary. No matter how inspired the writing is for that first draft, let it sit for at least 24 hours. When you come back to it, there is a good chance that you will see how to make the story better.
Writers, start you engines.

Why Is Karaoke So Popular?
Years ago, I did sing rock and roll, but that’s another story.
So, why do so many people make a fool of themselves but have such a good time? The alcohol? Raging hormones? Actually, a lot of good singers come to Del’s on a Friday night.
I think having all that attention, when the audience does pay attention, is addictive. I think it’s as simple as that.
I’m saving my pennies so I can get back to Del’s as some as possible.
