It would seem that creativity is a mixture of so many things, many of which the writer has little control over, that it will remain forever a mystery. The only thing a writer can do is to control what can be controlled. This means the writer must diligently study the craft of writing as if studying biology.
That is how serious must be the writer’s commitment to writing.
