Local media reports that American Idol hopefuls are lining up today in Heinz Field in Pittsburgh to sign up for auditions that will begin Friday.

As many as 20,000 contestants are expected to sign up between today and tomorrow.

The blogging day has begun.  The Old Soldier is keeping a close tab on the talks going on in Washington DC to raise the debt ceiling.  It is beyond imagination that the US Government would default on its bills.  That could mean no social security checks, no disability checks, no checks for the troops…Our leaders are playing with fire.
