Writers express many emotions through their writing: despair, disbelief, happiness, outrage, playfulness, empathy and on and on. Even when the emotion is anger, a writer must have courage, the courage to hope that someone will read the words.
I think that’s why writing has such a hold on so many of us. We hope someone will read our words. And in a frightening world it takes courage to have hope.
