Inspiration: Publication Is Only A Click Away

What a yucky day.  It’s around 10:30 AM and as the Old Soldier sits at his workstation he can see the overcast sky through the window.  The other window faces a building and a parking lot.  Well, at least there are trees behind the parking lot.  The high temperature today will only be around 60.

Hello hello hello, my brother and sister bloggers, readers, writers and Flash Fiction Fanatics.  The Old Soldier is still in a good mood.  This good mood has lasted for several days now.  Why am I in a good mood today when my Social Security check won’t arrive for two more weeks?

Well, yesterday the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette got 144 hits.  This morning I finished filling out the papers for another deferment on my student loans and will put the letter in the mail today; and today I published “A Tale Of Two Titties” by Eamonn Murphy, a new Guest Writer from England.

You can’t beat all of that with a stick!

Ah, the endless search for inspiration.  When the Old Soldier opens his browser in the morning, he tries to get inspiration from reading his AOL homepage.  You know one of the first things I saw this morning?  A pregnant woman had gotten into a car with another woman that she did not know and the pregnant woman ended up murdered and had the fetus sliced from her womb.

The Old Soldier knew then he had to look for inspiration somewhere else.

As you know, writers can get inspiration from all sorts of things: life, books, movies, family, work, vacation, school, the list is endless.  I hope that this blog can be an inspiration for writers, especially aspiring writers.

Publication is a real possibility when an aspiring writer submits his or her work to the PFF Gazette.  There are three departments that accept submissions.  Send Poetry, of course, accepts poetry.  Submissions accepts short stories and Anything Goes accepts everything else.  The tabs for all three departments are at the top of the page.

Hopefully, knowing that you have an editor here at the PFF Gazette who would like nothing better than to publish you will inspire you to keep writing.  Remember, writing is not a destination.  It’s a journey.  Keep writing and send me something.
