A writer can draw inspiration from many things in life: the good, the bad and the ugly. Just keep that in mind as you go through life.
Earlier today, the Old Soldier watched the music video station on the television and a video by Heart played. When Heart was at its peak, Nancy Wilson and Ann Wilson and their band played great rock and roll. As far as inspiration is concerned, great rock and roll does it for the Old Soldier every time.
Today I also bumped into one of my old professors. I was on my way to renew two books at the public library. One book was a history of Alexander the Great and the other was a history of WWII. My old professor saw the books and asked if I was doing research. I said I was reading the books for pleasure. He said, that everything a writer did was for research. I realized that he was right.
Anything and everything in the life of a writer can be used for inspiration for his or her craft. It’s all in how you work it. Keep your creative writing fire burning, too.
