The Craft Of Writing, The Power Of Hope

Woman As Art

Writing by its nature is an act of hope.  We writers reach out with our words in the hope that someone will read them; but writing is also a craft that demands perseverance and skill.

A writer must learn things like clarity, diction, grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax and more before he or she can entice a reader to read more than just the first few sentences of, let’s say, a short story.

So, if you are a writer be sure to study your craft.  Be sure to read the masters; and don’t lose hope.

Here’s something that will give you hope.  This magazine is a paying market.  At the top of the page are three tabs.  Anything Goes is for non-fiction.  Send Poetry is for poems and Submissions is for flash fiction.  Submissions are open for September.
