For a writer, getting rejection notices is like a boxer getting a punch. The writer doesn’t like it and the boxer doesn’t like it. Just remember that F. Scott Fitzgerald got rejection notices and Mohammed Alli took punches.
Sure in this day and age it’s easy to publish yourself. But that’s a lot like masturbation. It feels good but you did it yourself (Yes other publications have published me many times).
So, if you are a writer, don’t be afraid of rejection notices. Prove to yourself that your writing is good enough that someone else wants to publish it, too.
