Andy Warhol grew up here in Pittsburgh.  He grew up in the same neighborhood that I live in.  I live in Oakland.  He lived in Oakland.  Oakland is the home of the University of Pittsburgh.

Earlier this summer, I finally searched out and found exactly where he lived at on Dawson Street.

I stood in front of the house and stared at it.  There was nothing to suggest that Andy had ever lived there.  I was expecting a plaque or something.

But that’s okay.  If you wonder why the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is the way it is, in large part it’s because of Andy Warhol.
