We all live in a dangerous world. How does a writer handle this reality and still get his or her work done?
The Old Soldier is not going to pretend that there is an easy answer. Many things in life we simply have no control over. That’s a fact.
One of the best things any of us can do is to live our lives fighting to do what we love to do.
And if writing is one of the things you love to do, you do it.
This blog is for readers and writers who appreciate serious writing and brazen sexuality in the same online publication. The blog is published near the University of Pittsburgh.

The Old Soldier was stretched out on the sofa, having just finished a bowl of hot Ramen Noodles with two slices of green pepper in them, when the evening, local news began on the television.
Occupy Pittsburgh was the lead story. The group marched into downtown Pittsburgh today and demonstrated in front of the headquarters of several corporations.
TV reporters interviewed some of the demonstrators. A lot of students, union members, mothers and fathers (some with children) were among the demonstrators. I didn’t get a number as to how many demonstrators there were because at that moment my TV had a glitch; but a spokesperson for the group said that this demonstration was only the beginning.
I sure hope so.
I want to publish your flash fiction. The Submissions tab is at the top of the page. Send me something.
