I love that rock and roll. I grew up on The Rolling Stones, Animals, Kinks, Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Yardbirds, The Grass Roots, The Doors…You get the picture. I love karaoke and singing rock and roll. For karaoke I sing Culture Club, Bad Company and White Snake…You get the picture.
But when it’s time to get some blogging done I turn off the rock and roll and put on the classical public radio station. Every city doesn’t have a classical radio station. In Pittsburgh we do.
I’m listening to classical music now. I can’t tell you the composition but for some reason classical music is conducive to writing and blogging. Rock and roll is not. At least not for me.
You know what the young people say about rock and roll? If it’s too loud maybe you’re too old. I’ll never be too old for rock and roll. I just can’t blog to it.

Occupy Pittsburgh Wins An Award
Mark your calendars for this year’s Thomas Merton Center New Person Award dinner honoring Occupy Pittsburgh…
The Thomas Merton Center New Person Award is an annual celebration and fundraiser that honors a local activist or activist group that has made a significant impact in strengthening our communities through the fight for social justice and peace…
You can’t beat that with a stick. Occupy Pittsburgh is still alive.

How’s everyone doing? The high will be 86 degrees in Pittsburgh today, partly cloudy with the possibility of scattered thunder showers. The Old Soldier finally got a can of rug cleaner and will be working on his rug over the next few days to see if he can’t make his grubby apartment more livable.

I stopped in yesterday at Del’s in Bloomfield, where I sing karaoke on Friday nights, and John, one of the owners, asked me where I was last Friday night. That the place was packed. I told him it was a cash flow probably; but that I would be there this Friday night.
The Old Soldier might start off with Bad Company by Bad Company.
