The critics of flash fiction say it is too damn short. But we writers who understand and love the writing of flash fiction know that it is more than long enough to handle any subject a writer can come up with; whether that subject is love or sex, war or peace or marriage or being single.
Flash fiction simply captures a significant moment in time. That moment could be the end of a relationship; and a dozen flash fiction stories could be written about the end of a relationship by the same writer and each story would be different. When you throw into the mix different writers…
Flash fiction is long enough.
If you would like to try your hand at writing flash fiction, there are plenty of flash fiction stories on this blog to use as examples and plenty of articles to help you write one.
