Sexy Stories For The Serious Writer

In the best flash fiction stories, sex is always about more than sex.

It’s the Old Soldier here with an insight or two about writing and sex.  Or, to be more exact, writing about sex.  If you write erotica or sexy stories, or even porn, just remember that sex does not take place in a vacuum.  It takes place within the context of a relationship.

But don’t take my word for it.  Take the word of people like Henry Miller who wrote Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.  At one time both were considered trash because of all the sex in the books.  Now both are considered classics of erotic fiction. 

What makes these books classics is not the sex.  It’s the story.

So, if you want to write first-class erotica or porn, don’t forget the story.

Blogging News: 11,546 Hits For January 2011

For the first time in its 28-month history, this blog has gotten over 11,000 visits in one month.  It got 11, 546 hits last month.  That means the Old Soldier must be doing something right. 

This site is a mixture of tips on blogging and writing, a showcase for some of the best flash fiction on the Internet and a photo gallery of nude women, some of them celebrities and some unknown. 

I think the mixture is working.  Two days ago, this blog pulled in over 1,700 visitors.  And that is a record for one day, too.

So, the Old Soldier just came back from a beer run to the neighborhood of Bloomfield, right next to Oakland, and here is a big shout out to the students of the University of Pittsburgh and to fans of flash fiction wherever you may be.
