The high will be around 25 degrees in Pittsburgh today.
Hello hello hello, my brother and sister bloggers, readers and writers from all over the world!
Well, the Old Soldier is not going to let the cold weather keep him from getting around. I’ve just had a hearty lunch of scrambled eggs with green peppers and goat’s milk cheese with two slices of oatmeal bread all washed down with a can of beer.
Then later this afternoon I’ll brave the winter winds and walk the three blocks to Sonny’s Tavern in Bloomfield, Little Italy, for a screening of the John Waters film Female Trouble. John Waters films include the trash classics Hairspray, Polyester and several others.
Actually, John Waters will be here tomorrow to perform an updated version of his popular monologue This Filthy World at the Carnegie Music Hall right here in my neighborhood of Oakland.
Then next Thursday Sonny’s will screen my only full-length Super 8 underground film Death In Pittsburgh that I shot in 1990 as a member of the Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
Then tomorrow it’s on to karaoke at Del’s in Bloomfield.
This is the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.
Be sure to check the front page for updates. The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is a blog of reporting, writing and brazen sexuality.
