It’s around 3:00 PM and it’s hot, too hot for the Old Soldier to be walking around outside.  I might get a sunstroke.

So, I’m stretched out on the sofa, jotting in my little notebook, waiting for Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor on the retro-television station while I’m getting a cooling cross breeze and the fan is on and I’m sipping on a Cherry Coke.

Why don’t I have air conditioning?  When I retired to become a full-time blogger I took a vow of poverty.
