Are you serious about writing flash fiction?  I mean really serious?  If the answer is yes, then I have an Ebook written just for you.

Hello, flash fiction readers and flash fiction writers.  In 2005 the Old Soldier published The Pittsburgh Stories (Including the novella: In The Garden Of Love).  The book was based on a sampling of flash fiction stories that I submitted to the graduate writing program of the University of Pittsburgh in 2002.

Not only was I accepted to the program but I was also awarded a K. LeRoy Irvis Fellowship that paid for all three years of my schooling along with a monthly stipend of over $900 for the entire three years.

That’s how much the University of Pittsburgh thought of the flash fiction stories that I submitted.  Those stories and many more along with a short novel are in the Ebook that is now available to the readers of this blog.

The Ebook is not free; but if you can spare $6.00 and you want to learn from the best, download your copy today.  Be sure to save the file.  The link is at the top of the page.

Do you know what makes Batman such a great protagonist, a great movie hero?  The dude has some serious issues.  Batman is really an old fashion vigilante.  And a vigilante is a criminal.

So, when you create a protagonist it’s okay if he or she is not a “goody-two-shoe.”

The Old Soldier was just sitting at his workstation, streaming away on Twitter when the news announcer on the radio said the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, will be shot in Pittsburgh this summer.

Take a moment to download your copy of The Pittsburgh Stories.  The Old Soldier is so proud of his little eBook.  It cost only $6.00.  And at that price for some great show-don’t-tell fiction, you know you can’t beat it with a stick.

Let the reader discover your story.  What exactly does that mean?

Hello hello hello, bloggers, creative writers and Flash Fiction Fanatics.  Whenever a writer writes flash fiction, the best thing that can happen is for the reader to be a part of the creative process.  The only way for this to happen is for the writer to offer just enough of the story and no more so that the reader can fill in the rest.

When a reader can use his or her imagination to complete the story the story becomes a journey of discovery for the reader.

So, let the reader discover your story.

Click on the Ebook tab at the top of the page to download your copy of Compressionism: The Pittsburgh Stories.
