Every Flash Fiction Writer Is An Artist

Woman As Art

Woman As Art

That’s my attitude toward flash fiction writers: each one is an artist.

Now some are mediocre artists and some are talented artists.  Every flash fiction writer that is published in the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is a talented artist.  And they are great entertainers, too.

The Death And Rebirth Of Karaoke

Hardly anyone showed up (again) for karaoke at Del’s in Bloomfield (Little Italy) last night.

I think it’s time for the Old Soldier to make a change.  Even though I have a lot of history invested in Del’s, I’m going to start going to Nico’s for karaoke.

Nico’s is also in Little Italy and has been voted the best karaoke bar in the city several years by The City Paper, a local weeklie that focuses on local politics and culture.

Del’s has karaoke on Friday nights.  Nico’s has karaoke on Saturday nights.

I’ll be at Nico’s tonight.

A New Vision For Online Writers Of Fiction And Poetry

This is a blog about writing and about being a writer.  Why all the photos of naked women?  Why the focus on female sexuality?

I love women.  Is that a crime?  I may be 66 years old, but I’m not dead.

Hello hello hello, my brother and sister writers from all over the world!  This is the Old Soldier blogging out of Pittsburgh, PA on a rainy Friday with a high around 60.

The Old Soldier is up early (I wrote this on a piece of paper at around 7:30 a.m.) because there will be karaoke at Del’s in Bloomfield (Little Italy) tonight and there are a lot of things (laundry, food shopping, breathing and stretching exercises, shaving and a shower…) that must be done before karaoke.

So, I thought I’d put this post up before things got crazy.

The list goes on and on.  But at the core of this blog is the flash fiction short story.  This blog is over four years old.  Explore the site.  I’ll be the first to admit that it is definitely not for everyone.

But it might be just right for you.
