The Best Sexy Flash Fiction On The Internet

Woman As Art

The Old Soldier is a big fan of erotic flash fiction.

Hello hello hello, all my fans in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.  Welcome to the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, the home of the best sexy flash fiction on the Internet.

How’s everyone doing?

The Old Soldier is doing great.  It’s the start of another blogging day.  I have no idea what we will cover today, but I hope to inform and entertain you.  It’s going to be another hot (92 degrees), sunny day in Pittsburgh.  So, let’s get started.

This blog has lots of flash fiction on it.  But I am especially proud of the sexy flash fiction.  I have always argued that the best erotic short stories are really not about sex.  They’re about relationships, just like any other well-written short story.

And this is something that all you writers out there should remember, especially if you would liked to see your erotic story published in the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette (a paying market): no matter how explicit the sex, the story should come first.  No pun intended.

Well, to start you off, check out the Sexy Stories tab at the top of the page.  Then after that you’re on your own.  Explore the site.  Tell all your friends about the excitement that is the flash fiction short story.

3 Tips To Better Blogging Today And Much More…

Woman As Art

The Old Soldier has been blogging for at least seven years.  And I’ve been publishing the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette for about four years.  I made a lot of mistakes with my first three or four blogs; but those first three or four blogs taught me a lot about blogging.  The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette gets over 300 hits every day and I hope that by the end of this year it will get over 400 hits every day.  Here are the three most important things that I have learned about blogging.

  1. Blog for your readers and not for yourself.
  2. Offer your readers entertainment, useful information/insights, a useful service or all three.
  3. Publish often and on a regular schedule whether that schedule is every day or every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Just be consistent, but  publish often.

So, bloggers, flash fiction readers and writers are the core audience of this blog and that’s who I blog for.

The fiction and the Woman As Art series on this blog are at the core of the entertainment; while the articles and commentaries are meant to be informative and insightful and the fact that this blog is a paying market for fiction, non-fiction and poetry is the useful service that it offers.  And the Old Soldier publishes at least one post every day.

The mainstream media has reported that Moody’s Investors Service recently downgraded the credit ratings of three major US banks that do business around the world.  The Old Soldier is working-class and retired; but so are millions of other Americans and this constant stream of bad financial news makes me uneasy.  On Thursday the American stock exchange loss 251 points, the second worse drop this year.

The new Greek government wants to stay in the Euro Zone, but it also wants to renegotiate the terms of the austerity package that it has already agreed to for its banks to get more money from the Euro Zone.  While Spain has asked for a bailout of its banking system, too.

None of these things can be good for Main Street America.

Hello hello hello, fans of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette from all over the world: North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia!  You know who you are.  The blogging day has begun.  It’s only going to be around 80 degrees in Pittsburgh today with the possibility of some rain showers.

It’s Friday, but no karaoke tonight.  The Old Soldier went to karaoke three times this month and now he has to wait for next month to replenish his karaoke funds.

Just keep reading and keep writing that flash fiction.

How To Write Better Dialogue: Making The Internal External

Woman As Art

Just like real people in real life, characters in a flash fiction short story reveal a lot about themselves when they talk.  Or, at least they should.  In the best flash fiction they do.

There is a good reason that dialogue is called dialogue.  Dialogue is not just talk.  Dialogue is a tool that a writer uses to reveal character, attitude, social class, background, education and all sorts of things that the writer would otherwise have to explain to the reader.

Good dialogue allows the reader to make up his or her mind about a character.  Because just like in real life, we judge characters by what they say and we match what they say against what they do.

So, pay close attention to what your characters say.  The reader is judging them.

Dialogue can make the internal external.

Hello, fans of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette in Europe.  The Old Soldier awoke to the good news that the citizens of Greece voted in the party that wants to stay in the Eurozone; but that party still has to put together a government.

And there was the news that Spain is going to ask for help with its banking system.

How long can this go on?

The people in the circles that I move in don’t seem to be paying much attention to the financial crisis in Europe.  Of course, I’m working-class and retired; I live on social security and two pensions.  Still, if things go south in Europe I’m sure that it will impact not only me but millions of other Americans, too.

It’s an overcast, warm afternoon in Pittsburgh.  Well, the Old Soldier has spent his fun money for the month of June so there will not be anymore karaoke until the first Friday of July; but that’s okay.  The Old Soldier has never been good at living within a budget.  I do have a system though that works within my limitations.

The first week of every month, when I get my social security and two pension checks, I pay all my bills.  Then whatever is left over I spend it just like I want to.  It’s not a perfect system but it works for the Old Soldier: two weeks of fiesta and then two weeks of abstinence.
