Recently, for some strange reason, the Old Soldier has been thinking of Paris in the 1920s: Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein and Josephine Baker. The list just goes on and on.
Then there is my own youth that took place in the 60s.
Now it’s 2012 and the Old Soldier is retired with a secure income and plenty of free time on his hands. This blog about flash fiction is the result of that secure income and all of that free time.
What is flash fiction?
It’s a significant moment with closure. It’s a very short narrative about a long subject. It’s life on the page at 1,000 words a pop.
I guess this blog is really about life.
The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is an online magazine of serious writing and brazen sexuality. Be sure to check the front page for the latest updates.
