This morning on Fox News, Sarah Palin was still big news. Was her resignation planned? Did the scrutiny of the media push her out of the office of Governor of Alaska? Did she decide she needed more time to finish her tell-all memoir? How much is the book deal worth? Has she ruined her chances with the Republican Party? Has she split the Republican Party? The panel on Fox TV News raised a lot of questions but like the rest of us, the media will have to wait to get the answers.

Davy Jones Of The Monkees Dead At 66

The Old Soldier got his Giant Eagle pension check today. So, I’m sitting at the bar in Del’s Bar and Italian Restaurant in the Bloomfield (Little Italy) neighborhood of Pittsburgh, drinking a draft and just chilling out.
Del’s has several flat screen televisions on the wall. They usually have different channels on the televisions. On one screen they usually carry Fox News with the sound mute. I don’t like Fox News.
But I’m sitting there drinking my beer and watching Fox News. I think the newscaster was talking about the Republican Party’s primaries.
Anyway, under the newscast is that strip of news that runs across the bottom of the screen and it said that Davy Jones of the Monkees had died of a heart attack at the age of 66.
The Old Soldier is 65.
