This is a blog for writers published by a writer.  It’s a blog about the craft of writing flash fiction.  This publication hopes to inspire and comfort, to entertain and instruct.  And it doesn’t cost you a penny.

If you are an aspiring creative writer, try sending something to the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, the most dynamic flash fiction blog on the Internet.  You will either be published in a few days or receive a supportive, short critique that will help you get published next time.

I want to publish you as much as you want to be published.  Every story that is accepted is entered into the writing contest.  You can’t beat that with a stick.

The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is devoted to helping writers make the most of their writing talent.  No matter what your writing skill level is, you can find at the PFFG concise articles on blogging and writing and some of the best flash fiction being published on the internet.

The PFFG wants to publish you and enter your story into the writing contest.

I will work with every writer to make the submission process as painless as possible.  Every writer will be treated with respect and will receive a helpful critique if his or her story is not accepted for publication; so that the writer will have a better understanding of what the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is looking for.

Breaking Literary News

The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette has only been around seven months but already it has one of the best collections of short stories and articles on how to write short stories on the Internet.  You will also find flash commentaries on the days most important events.  Now that is news.  The publication is also open to submissions of fiction from 200-2,000 words and there is free help for aspiring and new writers.

So what are you waiting for?  Hours of literary entertainment is only a mouse click away.

Writing, Thought & The Short Story

We humans are the only creatures on earth that have written language.  Written language is symbolic.  The word “chair” doesn’t look anything like a chair.  It is my contention that it is this ability to take an abstract symbol like the word “chair” and to match it up with a physical “thing” that makes us conscious.

But it is the ability to use written language as a symbol for things we cannot see, like the word “God”, that makes us truly human.
