Good morning, bloggers, writers and Flash Fiction Fanatics. It’s the Old Soldier spreading the word about flash fiction.
The Old Soldier enjoyed another six-pack of beer last night. The chili con carne is kickin’ and in the refrigerator and it’s a bright, chilly day in Pittsburgh, just right for blogging.

Even though flash fiction is very short, nothing brings a very short story to life like dialogue. Dialogue must have some underlying tension and it must move the narrative efficiently to the resolution.
One of the best ways for a writer to learn how to write good dialogue is to read good dialogue. You will find plenty of good dialogue in the short stories in the sidebar on the right under Great American Flash Fiction Stories To Read.
