Don’t read this post if you don’t like sex. If you do like sex you are in for a treat. Hello students of the University of Pittsburgh and all my Flash Fiction Fanatics. It’s the beginning of another day of blogging and the Old Soldier wants to start it off with a bang.
Why are so many of the characters in these stories students at Pitt? I’m glad you asked me that question. Well, I was a student at Pitt from 1999 to 2006 when I got my MFA in fiction writing. So being a student was fresh in my mind when I wrote most of these stories. It was just easy to make my characters college students.
Plus, my apartment is a 15 minute walk from campus and in the winter when there are no leaves on the trees I can see the Cathedral of Learning from my window. So Pitt and college students are always on my mind.
Going back to school after being out of school for so long was one of the best decisions I ever made. Of course, like so many who went to college I have no idea about how I’m going to pay off my student loans.
