Hello, bloggers, writers and my Flash Fiction Fanatics. What makes a compelling protagonist?
When I was growing up as a comic book reading kid, I always liked Batman better than Superman and I never knew why, not until I grew up and started writing short stories and trying to create my own protagonists.
Now, the Fox show House has a compelling protagonist.
The reason Huge Laurie’s character can carry a popular series is because Dr. House has deep personal issues to deal with beyond what he has to deal with as a doctor.
Give your protagonists internal conflict and they will be more interesting.

Why Is Karaoke So Popular?
Years ago, I did sing rock and roll, but that’s another story.
So, why do so many people make a fool of themselves but have such a good time? The alcohol? Raging hormones? Actually, a lot of good singers come to Del’s on a Friday night.
I think having all that attention, when the audience does pay attention, is addictive. I think it’s as simple as that.
I’m saving my pennies so I can get back to Del’s as some as possible.
