On April 16, 2012 the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette got 514 hits from readers all over the world. What is the excitement all about?
Photos of naked women is certainly one reason.
But there are millions of blogs that have photos of naked women. Great flash fiction is one reason; but there are thousands of blogs about flash fiction.
What these other blogs do not have is the unique blend of articles, sexology, commentaries and fiction that you find here at the PFFG. Then add to all of this a place where poets, non-fiction writers and fiction writers can submit their work for publication and be paid for their work and I think you begin to understand why the PFFG got 514 hits on the 16th of this month and why it is being read by more and more people every month.
Explore the site and welcome to the most dynamic flash fiction publication on the Internet.
Keep reading and keep writing that flash fiction.

For the past two months, the Old Soldier has gotten into the habit of checking the Google ranking of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette for the term “flash fiction.”
This blog has been on the first page of Google for several weeks now. And when I checked this morning on the ranking of the PFF Gazette , there it was at #4. The Old Soldier must be doing something right.
You can’t beat it with a stick!
Hello, everyone. Yes, the Old Soldier is a player when it comes to flash fiction. Why do I think that people from all over the world click on this blog day after day and week after week?
The photos of nude women help. The celebration of female sexuality certainly helps. The insightful articles on sexology by the Love Doctor are a big factor. The commentaries on life, current events and the world we live in add punch.
The articles on blogging and writing are very instructive. The insights into the life of a senior citizen (yours truly) are informative. And the reports about what it’s like to be a writer can be very useful.
Then there are the flash fiction short stories: literary, mainstream and sex stories.
I think that’s why people read the Pittsburgh Fash Fiction Gazette.

There’s a black cat that hunts outside my window. I saw the cat again today. It’s probably a house cat because it looks well fed and cared for; but it also hunts. I saw the cat as I paced my livingroom carpet. College basketball was on the television. As I paced and thought about blogging and writing, I snacked on cheese with hot peppers in it, a tomato, a couple of slices of rye bread and I sipped on a small, plastic container of sweet tea.
Then I saw this black cat below outside my window as it slouched along a wire fence. The cat seemed to be hunting, searching.
And the cat reminded me of what it is like to be a writer of flash fiction.

Happy days! After more than three years of publication, the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette has published more than 2,800 pieces of content. This blog started out as a journal for a lonely baby boomer and it has now turned into a dynamic flash fiction news magazine for people who enjoy an eccentric mixture of sexology and good writing.
That calls for a celebration.
Why don’t you participate in the celebration by clicking the follow button?

How’s everyone doing? The Old Soldier is stretched out on the sofa with two fat pillows under his weary head as he sips on a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer and watches Will Smith impersonate Mohammed Ali on the television.
It’s a great movie.

An Amateur Ready For Her Porn Scene
Now as the editor/publisher of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette, I will admit that my opinion is probably not objective; but let me tell you what my little magazine has to offer.
There are naked women. There are articles about blogging and writing and on being a writer. There are commentaries on just living life. There are commentaries on current events. There are poems and great short stories. There are articles about sex.
But why don’t you just take a few minutes and explore the site yourself and make up your own mind?
