The Old Soldier has committed himself to cleaning the two windows in his apartment this spring after four years of procrastination. It’s a disgrace!
The apartment is on the corner of the building in the back. One window faces another apartment building and a parking lot; but the other window faces backyards, homes and in the near distance the 43-story Cathedral of Learning of the University of Pittsburgh that is in clear view when the leaves fall off the trees.
eBook: The Pittsburgh Stories. Download your copy today.
It is around 2:00 PM. The sun is hiding behind the clouds. The Old Soldier has his beer and is blogging and tweeting away at his workstation. A special about Paris is on public television making the Old Soldier feel like a true artiste.
This blog is about blogging, writing, news, sexuality and the pain and joy of life.

Time to go for my walk. I don’t know if I’ll stop for a couple of beers or not. I’m trying to live within my budget. I can walk down toward the University of Pittsburgh or in the opposite direction toward Bloomfield, Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy”. Since the sun is not shinning my walking won’t be as much fun but it’s still great exercise.
I found out from the Internet that the Penguins had won game four…The State of Pennsylvania is still over three billion dollars in the red and raising taxes may be the only way out…The Pittsburgh Three Rivers Art Festival starts today down at The Point downtown.
If you are an aspiring writer you will find all kinds of useful articles on writing in the sidebar on the right under “More Flash Articles”.

Love that Pepsi Wild Cherry while I’m blogging. It’s around 70 degrees here in Pittsburgh. I shaved my head this morning in the shower so now’s the time to get a newspaper across the street and for my walk to Bloomfield. I’ll probably pick up a few things for the crock pot and a 40 oz bottle of beer. Money’s getting short. The boneless beef chuck rib soup turned out beautifully. I’ll try to pick up some more beef soup stock…
Obama got the insurance companies to agree to charge men and women the same rates. The insurance companies were charging women more. Good for him…
The sun is trying to come out. It’s time to go.
