Not bad for a little niche blog.  And there are a few more days to go.  It’s the Old Soldier here reporting from Pittsburgh.  Sure I invest a lot of time, effort and some money into the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette; but I’m retired and I love being the editor/publisher of this online magazine.

I have often said and I will say it many times again that I think this publication is the most exciting flash fiction publication on the Internet.  I sincerely believe that.

But I’m just one person.

So, I would like to use this post to thank all the readers and writers from all over the world who are a part of this writing community.

It’s a cliché that without you the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette would not be possible.  This time the cliché is true.

Writing: Flash Fiction To Entertain You

Flash fiction writers should always remember that we are entertainers, too.  It’s the Old Soldier starting another day of blogging.

Hello, all my fans on Twitter and Facebook.  This blog is full of good flash fiction entertainment.  Don’t be bashful.  Some of the stories deal with sex and some do not.  Some of the stories deal with love and some do not.  Some of the stories deal with hope and some do not.  Sit back and explore the world of the flash fiction story.

Blogging: A New Feature Has Been Added

The Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette is here to inform and entertain bloggers and fiction writers and readers.

Welcome to my humble blog.  This blog is getting over 600 hits a day every day, and the Old Soldier wants to thank you. 

I’ve added a new feature.  At the top of the page you will find the Featured Link tab.  This tab came about because there were only so many more links that I could add to the dozens of links in the sidebar on the right.  On the right are links to flash fiction stories and articles that cover writing short stories and blogging.  But as you can see, I’m running out of room.

So, I thought, why not have a Featured Link at the top of the page that I change every Sunday?  That way, with the running daily commentary that is part of the blog’s makeup, I could continue to update the blog with a weekly link that does not show up anywhere else on the blog.  It comes down to a matter of space.

For a while there I was putting the new links on individual post.  But those posts eventually disappeared into the archives.  Adding a Featured Link tab seemed like a good idea.  And all the links that make it as a Featured Link will stay on that page.

So, check out the new Featured Link tab along with all the other tabs at the top of the page.
