Notes From The Flash Fiction Underground (June 12, 2012)

Woman As Art

The disturbed woman down the hall has been quiet this morning.  No screaming and no constantly banging shut her door.  Yesterday, the police did not take her away.  I talked to one of the staff who works in the office on the first floor and apparently it is not that easy to evict someone even if the person is a nuisense to those around her.

The woman’s rent is paid up to the end of this month.  Maybe management will get her out then.

Hello, world!  It’s the Old Soldier reporting from Pittsburgh.  The high will be around 80 degrees on a cloudy day with the possibility of scattered thunder showers.

Yesterday, I received a soft-covered copy of my book that I ordered from my publisher.  A local bookstore said it will carry it.  I think I will sell the book at a discount, maybe $1.50.  The Old Soldier will get %60 of the cover price.  I’ll lose money, but the idea is to promote the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette.  The URL of the magazine will be inside the book in a prominent place.

You can get a copy of the book, too.  Just click on the first link in the sidebar on the right.
