Just came back from a walk. There are certain streets in my neighborhood that I love walking on because of how nice the homes are. There are a lot of trees, shrubs and lawns in my neighborhood. There were only a few people about. I guess things will return to normal tomorrow.
Paul, one of the owners of Sonny’s Tavern, drove past. He waved and shouted a greet. Even though the sky was overcast, it was a pleasant walk. It got me out of the apartment and away from blogging for a while. Now back to work.

Writing: Walking Around Your Neighborhood
Image via Wikipedia
Are you a writer? If the answer is yes, you have to constantly remind yourself that even a walk around your neighborhood is an opportunity to absorb sights and sounds that might be useful someday in your writing. Once you get into the habit of doing this, it will become automatic. You won’t have to think about it. You’ll just be able to enjoy your surroundings and the sight and sounds will be there for you when you need them.
That’s exactly what a writer wants.

The Old Soldier just came back from an afternoon walk around the neighborhood. I took in the partly sunny, mild weather, the trees and lawns, the buildings and the joggers, the young couples holding hands.
Now it’s time for some home fries with onions and green peppers and football on television and some Pepsi Wild Cherry.
