Last night, the Old Soldier watched the second part of an investigation done by Frontline, the television news program, on Wall Street and the big banks that caused the recent great recession.
Very little has changed. On Wall Street it is business as usual.
Oh, sure, the bankers agreed to a few restrictions; but nothing has really changed. And neither major party, the Democratic or the Republican Party, have the will to reform the banking system.
The conclusion: it is only a matter of time before there is another banking crisis that will devastate Main Street again.

In the meantime, the Occupy Movement recently grabbed some media attention by holding demonstrations throughout the country in the past few days.

Hello, everyone. The high will be around 80 degrees on a cloudy day in Pittsburgh today with the possibility of scattered thunder showers. I hope you are all doing well.
The annual Pittsburgh Great Race will take place on Sunday May 6th. Part of the race will go through Bloomfield, a 15-minute walk from my apartment. Bloomfield makes the Pittsburgh Great Race a neighborhood festival. The Old Soldier is thinking about attending the festivities.

The J.P. Morgan Chase Two Billion Dollar Fiasco
The mainstream media is reporting that J.P. Morgan Chase of New York has recently lost two billion dollars through its London office and the CEO of the company knows nothing about it.
And you thought the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette was just about sex.

The Old Soldier is a senior citizen, retired. I am only a casual observer of the international financial scene like most of the readers of this magazine; but I do know that every time one of these Wall Street banks makes a risky bet on making profits and loses money big time, it means that we on Main Street get fucked!
