In real life we yearn to hear the voice of the person we have the hots for.  It’s the same way in sexy flash fiction.

This is the Old Soldier reporting for duty.  As I continue to slowly build the New Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette behind the scenes (new apps, plugins, configurations, themes, formatting and so on…) I still have to put up content.  Dialogue in the sexy flash fiction story is a good place to start.

Of course, dialogue is not just talk.  Dialogue is one of the best tools the flash fiction writer has for projecting character.  It is one of the best tools for moving the story efficiently to resolution.  It is one of the best tools for showing the sexual tension in the story.

So, when you write your sexy flash fiction, don’t forget the dialogue.  A little dialogue goes a long way.  Have your characters talk to each other.  And your reader will be listening.

Job Fair

For me, the job fair was a waste of time.  Or maybe not, because I did have an epiphany.  No hospital recruiter is going to hire someone with an MFA for housekeeping, or one of the other entry level positions that this hospital was offering. 

My best bet is with the data service company that I interviewed with last week for an entry level position that requires a BS or a BA.  I’ll find out the first week of December if I made the first cut and will be called in for the second round of interviews.

Well, in twenty minutes it’ll be time to leave the employment and training center.  On Friday’s school ends at noon.  I’ll check my voicemail when I get home and then probably walk to Bloomfield (Pittsburgh’s “Little Italy”) and do my food shopping for the week at Shure Save.  I’ll probably stop in Nico’s or Del’s. 

I need to see some friendly faces.
